The Sparkstreet Story of Kim and Gerald -
The Wedding Proposal
Yes, you read it right. But we're not talking about Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, by the way.
This is a series of Sparkstreet coverage for Kim Sulit and Gerald Carandang who once dreamed of capturing the stories behind their wedding proposal, engagement photo session, up to their wedding celebration.
We had the chance to know Gerald when he contacted us for his Wedding Proposal preparation back in 2021. Since we regularly cover proposal events in The Purple Owl, Pika, the owner recommended us to cover Gerald's proposal as well.
The Purple Owl is a private event's venue in San Jose, Tagaytay City located inside Villa Pura Subdivision. It is a huge house of bricks which gives that welcoming vibe that clients usually fall in love with the second they arrive at the venue.
These were taken while they were waiting at the holding area with our Photographer as 'in-house photographer' taking all clients that will come that night. Of course, we just made that excuse up so we can gather as much photos as we can without Kim knowing she's the only person we were waiting for that night.
His instructions were thorough, making it sure that his girlfriend that time, Kim, will be surprised upon entry and that we should be able to capture the moment of her arrival and her reactions. He also discussed the songs he wanted us to use for the video highlights, what angles he wanted to include, and the like.
It was at a gazebo set up on a big garden at The Purple Owl with styling that surely amazed us all including string lights, flowers, curtains, big and small plants, photo displays, candles, and petals. The sounds of the crickets and frogs altogether made the moment more romantic and magical.
When Kim saw Gerald holding a bouquet of flowers while waiting for her, that was it. She almost ran into him and hugged each other while crying in so much love and joy. It was when Gerald broke the hug and knelt to the ground to formally ask Kim the words, "Will You Marry Me?" She said, "Yes."
